Letter from the Principal
Whether you are new to our community or just looking for a great Christian school for your children, we greet you with joy and love, in the name of Jesus.
When I run into former students of Cornerstone Academy, it gives me such joy to know they are walking with the Lord and serving in a variety of careers: engineering, medicine, law, education, and so many more! They report to us their success in college and career is partly from the excellent preparation and support they received at Cornerstone Academy. Our students’ stories attest to the fulfillment of the vision of Cornerstone.
Biblical Worldview - We’re here to assist parents! Finding the right school for your family’s needs is one of the most important decisions you make for your child’s life. Knowing your child attends a school which reinforces your family Christian values and partners with you in teaching from a Biblical worldview means you can rest assured they’re being taught to honor you and to love the Lord and their Christian community. As Cornerstone Academy reaches its 19th year, we have maintained an emphasis of keeping Jesus first in our vision and mission, our approach to instruction and academics, and our student’s participation in sports, performing arts, and clubs. We are fully aware we operate in “loco parentis” (in place of the parents), and count it a pleasure, as well as a serious commitment, to partner with families like yours.
Classical – If you listen to the news, you will hear many stories of “poorly educated children and ineffective teachers”. Cornerstone is different. It is a family, a safe and loving alternative. We offer classical Christian education with its discipline, rigor, and learning geared to child development stages. It is our commitment to offer the best opportunity for your child’s academic achievement, character growth, and spiritual education.
Flexible – Being an involved parent in your child’s education has been proven to benefit the long term development of your child.
- Children in K4 – 5th Grade may choose to attend school 3, 4, or 5 days a week, offering homeschooling options for parents to remain active and hands-on as much as desired.
- Students in 6th through 12th grade may attend school 4 or 5 days a week, giving parents the choice for 1 day of homeschooling during the middle school (Logic) or high school (rhetoric) stages. (*Students on scholarship are required by the state to attend 5 days a week.)
Communal - It’s GREAT to be a Cornerstone Cougar! Athletics such as football, volleyball, and soccer as well as activities including Latin Club, drama, and band, are important components of Cornerstone Academy. Building community while using and honing our God-given gifts and talents is an important part of discipleship and classical education.
